A photo of my piece, "Microcosm" hanging in the Mallory Wurtzburger gallery at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens during the Love the Leaf exhibition that closed on Sunday.

  1. I love this piece. I'm using circles in my artwork, too, and I recently learned about something related to this. Did you know that there are people who have are intensely disgusted by "clusters of holes" and would be repulsed by artwork using them? Finding that out really freaked me out for a while. But I think since some say they feel compelled to look at the images that repulse them, it might work come out about even. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3318322299/

  2. That's pretty wonderful, actually. I've never heard of that phobia before, although I don't doubt it exists. I think getting a reaction from viewers at all is highly gratifying, even if the reaction is disgust. Your embroidery piece is lovely. I hope you keep using circular patterns in your work if that is something you are interested in. Never be afraid to freak people out. As long as what you're doing is meaningful to you, it will be to others too. Keep it up and thank you so much for reaching out to me! I always love hearing from other artists :)
